12 hours later we arrive at the bus interchange at Jing Hong, glad that we were only a ½hr van-ride away from our destination - Meng Hun... unknown to us that our 'adventure' had only just begun.
To cut the long story short, as a result of a slight confusion we ended up in Meng KUN instead Meng HUN which were in opposite directions from each other... :s but that gave us an additional 3 hours to do some solid bonding whilst trying not to fall out of our seats over the bumpy roads. :p
Lunching at Jing Hong - square one after going to Meng Kun and back again to retrace our steps...
Sights of Meng HUN - we finally get it right. :)
Whee..! On the dirt track into the village we will call home for the next 4 days...
Arriving at our host, Dr Ai Wen Dan's beautiful home cum village clinic
Clockwise from left corner: medical store with all the prescriptions, kitchen & dining area, the girls' pretty bedroom, the outside of the mini 'hospital'
Curious children at Dr Ai's clinic

Dinner (Liz on the left, Dr Ai and his family on the right)
We had a wonderful time chatting with Dr Ai and some of the teachers in between times that we were at the school with the kids, and getting to know a little more of life in the village through them... They were also very excited to share with us a water heater that was recently installed for the privilege of warm baths! :)
Here is Dr Ai sharing with us some ethnic Dai songs... the people group he belongs to.
Us at the village school
The almost-complete toilet built especially for the school kids
Where all the waste will be 'channelled' to...
Toilets are lovingly contributed by the Singapore MILK Fund... part of our job was to do some 'publicity' for them there. :)
