XSBanna: Hiking Day Out

Bright and early and COLD..! All geared up to be taken for a day-trek by Dr Ai in areas surrounding the village...

Messy sight of a cow being slaughtered by the roadside...

One of the biggest temples in the vicinity that Dr Ai spent a couple of his teenaged years in...

Melon break... sweet and juicy! But it subsequently gave me a stomach upset. :s

Introducing... the Banna Belles!! heheh.

Half-time break from hours of walking across hills and plains...

Stop-over at Pulang tribe village

Boiling some water for tea... and if you look closely, you can see pieces of meat hanging over the kettle to dry!

Dr Ai going about his rounds to brief and be updated by the various village doctors...

Pulang tribe women

Government tenets to be embraced by the villagers...

In a field of dried wheat husks...

Do not be deceived by our cheery waving arms. Probably THE most scary thing we did during the trip... walking across this narrow bridge of 3-4 storeys in height with no blockades on either side. *shiver*

The main source of income for villagers in this region - tea-picking.

Sunning the tea leaves

Weighing and bundling the tea leaves for sale
